Upgrades, downgrades and substitution changes can only be done during September 2022.

(The fee difference for an upgrade will have to be paid. Down grades do not qualify for a refund of the fee difference.)

All Entry fees now include the bus ticket.

NO REFUND POLICY

Entry fees will not be refunded, returned, cancelled or exchanged on account of the weather

 or any unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the event organizers.

FULL ROAD CLOSURE

We thank Mpumalanga Government Sports and Culture for arranging closure of the Kaapsehoop Road from 04:00 to 10:00 during the Marathon.

PRIZE MONEY HAS BEEN INCREASED

We have increased our Prize money, bringing it in line with other major races.

Kaapsehoop events use GUN to MAT timing in accordance with WA TR 19 and ASA Rule 34.21 for determining prizes, and MAT to MAT for mass participation and qualification times.

QUALIFYING RACES and MAT-to-MAT TIMING

This race will be a qualifier towards Comrades 2023 but the qualifier window dates have not yet been set and will only be set after this years race!

All qualifying races must be ASA technically compliant and meet the Comrades Marathon qualifying criteria. 

You must submit your provincially approved club name, license number and qualifying race details when you apply for registration once entries for Comrades 2023 open.

Net time (Mat to Mat) will be accepted, as the race is timed by a reputable timing company using an electronic timing system.

FOREIGN ATHLETES

All foreign athletes must comply with WA (World Athletics) rule  WA TR 4 and ASA Rule 9.

  Foreign athletes must be able to produce a letter from their respective federation permitting them to participate on race day.

The athlete grants their permission (in terms of Section 51 of the Electronic Communications Transactions Act 25 of 2002) to the Kaapsehoop Marathon and organisers to use their name, race information and photographs, video tapes, broadcasts and telecasts in which they may appear free of charge. 

The Kaapsehoop Marathon is compliant with The Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and is committed to storing, using and processing participant data in a manner compliant with the guidelines prescribed by POPIA.

The athlete accepts that their personal information will remain confidential and hereby consent to same being shared with the parties involved in the organisation of the event for purposes of results, medical care and / or promotion of activities related to the event.

THE USE OF ANY TYPE OF EARPHONES IS NOT ALLOWED IN THIS RACE AND WILL LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION.
