Uniwisp Fast 5-in-1 Marathon

FOREIGN ATHLETES
All foreign athletes must comply with WA (World Athletics) rule 142 and 4.2. Foreign athletes must be able to produce a letter from their respective federation permitting them to participate on race day.
50km UNIWISP ULTRA-MARATHON.
This event has been approved as a qualifier for Comrades 2022.
Athletes for the 50km must be 20 years or older on the day of the race. Proof of age (ID) to be produced upon request on day of race.
The Uniwisp Fast 5-in-1 Ultra-Marathon will be hosted under strict COVID-19 compliance procedures to ensure that every person can enjoy a safe event.
A COVID-19 start will see runners setting off in a batched group, allowing for ample social distancing, from 06h00.
This process will ensure that we remain below the official gathering regulations of Modified Level 1 and that you are adequately social distanced from one another. Numbers will be colour coded to ensure the runner enters the correct batch on race day.
The 50km Ultra Marathon will be timed using:
1. Gun to Mat for any position and prize money.
Start of 50km Ultra-Marathon is at Sabie/Lydenburg Road at 6h00 am. Finish is at Mbombela Stadium. Cut-off is 12:00 Midday.
Buses depart at 04h30am from Mbombela Stadium. Your RACE Bib is your BUS TICKET !
ARAMEX, will transfer athlete’s bags from the Start to Finish Area.
42.2km UNIWISP FAST MARATHON.

A COVID-19 start will see runners setting off in a batched group, allowing for ample social distancing, from 06h30.
This process will ensure that we remain below the official gathering regulations of Modified Level 1 and that you are adequately social distanced from one another. Numbers will be colour coded to ensure the runner enters the correct batch on race day.
The 5km Fast One will be NOT timed:
Start of 5km is at Mbombela Stadium at 6h30 am. Finish is at Mbombela Stadium. Cut-off is 09:00 am.

Please purchase your shirt and register your size as per the sizing table below. Note that T-shirt sales are only available till 7th March 2022.
NO PRIZE GIVING EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE FINISH VENUE.
Prize money will be verified by Race Referees via the Protime electronic timing system, based on Gun to Mat time.
Prize money will be deposited into category winners bank accounts.

LIVE RACES.
The races will be run according to the rules of AMPU, ASA and WA (IAAF). No seconding will be allowed.
All participants must wear a suitable face mask on arrival at the venue. No person will be permitted to enter the demarcated areas without a face mask. The mask must be worn onboard the buses as well as the start & finish areas. The mask may be removed during the run only, but must be replaced at the Finish.
Athletes, entering for this event, and who use medication to treat an illness or condition which falls under the Prohibited List, should complete a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) form before entering for the event and obtain authorization from SAIDS to take the needed medicine or method.
Registered athletes must wear full club colours. You do not need to be a member of a registered club, any individual can enter and run as an unlicensed athlete.
You will however need to purchase a temporary license. Temporary numbers must be worn on the back of the vest.
Licensed athletes license-numbers must be worn on the front and back of the vest. Official Race numbers must be worn on the front of the vest, below the top part of ASA.
Age category ID tags must be worn (back and front) by athletes competing for a category prize AND must be fixed on the vest (all 4 corners).
Walkers must have a fixed "W" on the vest to qualify for any prizes.
Entry Includes : Medal, Electronic Tag on Race Bib ( which is also your Bus Ticket )
Ongoing Pandemic Cancellation.
If the race is cancelled due to an ongoing Pandemic, there will be NO refunds, but the race will be converted to a Virtual race.
A No-refund policy will apply.
In the event of another COVID-19 lockdown, the race will automatically downgrade to a Virtual Race. T-Shirts, Medals, and race Numbers will still be delivered to each athlete as per entry details.
